Kaffarah

Kaffarah is a form of atonement required when a Ramadan fast is intentionally broken without a valid excuse.

For Ramadan 2026, kaffarah requires fasting for 60 consecutive days. If this is not possible due to health or other valid reasons, feeding 60 people in need is required instead.
At £15 per meal in the UK, the total kaffarah donation is £900 for each broken fast.

If you miss a fast for a valid reason and are unable to make it up later, fidyah should be given instead.
