The Ashab al-Kiram (the Noble Companions) experienced no greater joy than when they heard the third verse of Surah al-Qadr: “The Night of Qadr is better than a thousand months.”
Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) told his Ashab about four people from the Children of Israel, who worshipped Allâh Ta‘âlâ for eighty years without disobeying Allah even with the blink of an eye. That amazed the Sabaha Al-Kiram immensely.
Upon this Jibrael Alayhis Salâm came down and said “O, Muhammad! Your ashab were amazed with those four men who worshipped Allâh Ta‘âlâ for eighty years without disobeying Him even with the blink of an eye. Allâh Ta‘âlâ sent you something better than their virtue.” Then, he recited to the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam, the whole Surah that reads ‘Inna Anzalhu fi laylatil qadri…’.Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) and his companions were very happy with it.
