Providing Clean Water - One Step at a Time
According to the latest data from the World Health Organization (WHO), as of 2021, approximately 2.2 billion people in the world lack access to safe drinking water. This means that about 28% of the world's population does not have access to clean and safe water for drinking, cooking, and personal hygiene.
Prophet Muhammad SAW (peace be upon him) said:
"Whoever provides water to drink for a thirsty person, Allah will grant him a drink from my fountain, which will not make him thirsty again until he enters paradise." (Sunan Ibn Majah)
This Hadith highlights the importance and reward of providing water to those in need. It is a reminder that by providing clean water to those who are thirsty, we can earn great rewards from Allah (SWT) and have our own thirst quenched in the hereafter.
Thus, it is our duty to seek out opportunities to provide water to those in need.
